Simple workflow

How It Works

Reference → Concepts → Refine → Matching art

  1. ReferenceCollect the characters, screenshots, and style cues worth keeping.
  2. ConceptsTry a few focused directions instead of settling for the first idea.
  3. RefineStrengthen the subject, contrast, and crop while the concept is still flexible.
  4. Matching artCarry the visual identity into the next asset players discover.

Game icon planning guide

Plan a Roblox game icon that reads clearly

A game icon has only a moment to explain why players should look closer. A useful brief makes that moment specific: it chooses one focal subject, supports it with a recognizable reward or action, and removes details that disappear in a smaller browse view.

Start with the player promise

Lead with the character, collectible, vehicle, or destination that best represents what players do. A single strong silhouette is easier to recognize than a full scene competing for attention.

Use gameplay references with intent

References keep the icon tied to your own world: its character shapes, color balance, rewards, and sense of action. They are planning inputs, not a promise of an automatically generated result.

Check the small sizes before committing

Review 512×512 for the complete composition, 150×150 for a compact browse view, and 64×64 as a Pictoriq readability stress-test. If the idea is unclear at 64, simplify the subject or contrast rather than adding more detail.

FAQ

What can I plan with the icon maker?

Use it to choose a genre direction, define the focal subject, organize references, and review the composition at discovery sizes.

Is Pictoriq an official Roblox tool?

No. Pictoriq is an independent third-party tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roblox Corporation.

Why show a small-size preview?

Game icons are often judged at compact sizes in browsing surfaces, so comparing full and small previews helps expose weak silhouettes, crowded details, and unreadable text.

What should I include in a game icon brief?

Name the game’s main activity, choose the focal character or object, and add gameplay references when the setting, reward, or action helps tell the story.

Do genre presets create art automatically?

No. A preset only gives you a starting direction for the focal subject and composition in Quick Start; it does not generate an image.

How do the example directions help?

They show three ways the same game identity can be framed: a close-up for recognition, a reward-led composition for progression, or an action-led composition for energy.
